Why the Nazi Reich lost the War

How did a nation with the most advanced weapons and tactics lose the second world war?

Only thing worse than war, is a bad peace - old Greek proverb
The second world war was a consiquence of the horrible terms Germany was given after it surrendered in 1918.
When the Nazi's took over Germany, they had had a broken Empire, at least compared to what German Empire had been some twenty years before, with serval big colonies, a huge fleet and it was the most powerful power in Europe. All of this had been lost after the first World War, a war where at the start they where only supporting their allies, before becoming the greatest aggressor, and at the end the fleet had been scuttled, the colonies taken by the victorious French and British and even parts of the central empire had been given away, West Prussia was now part of Poland.
By the mid thirties, the German army had risen again, but to support a large army the broken economy had be back on top, and by 1939 the industry was working quite well, the Reich was producing weapons, aircrafts and everything else they needed.
The only thing they could not make enough of, was fuel. Germany did produce some synthetic fuel, but it took a great deal of work to make, and it could never compete against fossil fuel. Germany had allies that produced oil, Romania was close by and could support the german war machine to some degree, lack of fuel would stall eveything, pilots would not get the training and flying hours to become effective. The trucks moving the infantry, the panzers and even the staff cars would be rendered useless.
Poland had received territory from Germany (west Prussia) after the first world war, much of this territory had belong to Poland some hundred years before, but Poland had not existed between 1775 and 1918, and before that it had been part of the first German empire (The Holy Roman Empire) this made the country a target for Nazi Germany.
By 1939 Nazi Germany had recovered some of the lost territory, it had even added some that had been out side of the original territory of the Empire, Austria, which was their allies (which actually started the first world war) had been annexed the year before, along with the Czech republic, both with the British and French threaten with war against Germany for braking the treaty of Versailles and expanding in a aggressive manner.
Poland had recived territory from Germany (west Prussia) after the first world war, much of this territory had belong to Poland some houndred years before, but Poland had not exsisted between 1775 and 1918, and before that it had been part of the first german empire (The Holy Roman Empire) this made the country a target for Nazi Germany.
Poland had powerful allies, both France and Great Britain was keen to keep the polish free from Nazi rule, knowing that a full size Nazi Reich could not only become the strongest power in Europe, it could be the most powerful in the world.
Josef Goebbels - Nazi propaganda minister.
Hitler made sure that the propaganda machine gave the German people a reason to support a war against Poland, first it was the german population living in Prussia (Poland) who wanted to be part of the great third Reich. Britain and France was allied with Poland, and if Germany attacked Poland, it would be a new war.
Hitler hoping that this was emty threats chose to invade Poland, and the 31th of august, 1939 the German forces conducted a false flag operation (attacing their own positions) telling the world that Poland had attacked Germany. The next morning they invaded with full force, comprising more than five thousand panzers and aircrafts combined, all fired up with thirsty engines.
The war had to be short, very short or the Nazi warmachine would go out of fuel, and this was a problem that followed them through the whole war, again and again. Part Two will follow.
